Book Club 3 meeting 14/04/20

Last night six members of book club 3 met for their first virtual book club. We had a really interesting discussion about Lisa Jewell's thriller, The Family Upstairs. Many agreed somewhat honestly that, although they enjoyed reading the book themselves, the strong subject matter and themes would make them pause before passing on the book. A book with three different narrators, one perhaps deliberately made to be unreliable in his accounts of events. A page turner with twists and turns right up to the end. Fight Club Book Club Meeting 02/04/20

This was the first night of our online book club meeting for our book club who call themselves "fight club". The whole group joined in the online chat, and after the odd technical hitch we managed to get up and running and were able to have a great discussion about "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens. Everyone agreed that this was a super read, poignant and descriptively atmospheric with a satisfying twist. This book's scores were 4 out of 5 or 5 out of 5. Online Book Clubs

Hi Everyone, I'm delighted to say we had the first of our online book clubs last night. Six club members signed into the Zoom invite and despite the odd 'technical hitch' we had a fabulous discussion about Ben Aaaronovitch's, urban fantasy Rivers of London. Not a preferred genre of most of the group members, they still each scored the book a generous 3 out of 5 stars. The Bookhouse is moving online!

Following the latest UK and Scottish Government advice The Bookhouse is now closed in-store.  HOWEVER subsequent guidance from the UK government states that online shopping sites should remain open (and are encouraged to do so), and postal and delivery services will run as usual.  In line with this guidance we have decided to remain OPEN online and by telephone and FREE SAME-DAY* delivery service within the Monifieth/Broughty Ferry area.  Books can also be posted further afield for a small additional charge.  To place an order or enquire about stock, please call 01382 698484 10am-5pm, Tuesday-Sunday, or visit The Bookshelves section of...
