We have put together this shortlist of great new books for young readers. This list will be continually updated as new recommendations are added.

Here are a few of the great fiction books that have come out in the last few weeks.

'Fight Club' is one of the book clubs that has been running at the Bookhouse for the past three years. It is an all-female group and they have a range of reading interests. We asked them to put together their favourite book club reads of last year. These are their recommendations. All scored at least 4 out of 5 in their opinion, and who would argue with Fight Club?

A famously avid reader, the FM is known for her love of Scottish crime fiction and historical fiction, as well as, perhaps unsurprisingly, non fiction politics essays. 

We currently have five adult book clubs and one junior book club that meet at the Bookhouse (virtually at the moment). Each month a different member of each group takes a turn at picking the group's next read. Here is a selection of their current and last choices.
